GitHub Account Incorrectly Flagged as Spammy — Related to Recent Incident?

Hello everyone,

My GitHub account (ardaaltinors) has been flagged as "User is spammy" unexpectedly. I have already submitted an official appeal (Ticket #3324072) for a manual review, but I'm posting here to see if anyone else has faced a similar issue recently.

I noticed that GitHub had an incident yesterday (April 2, 2025) regarding disruptions with some GitHub services and inaccuracies in the Dormant Users Report. I'm wondering if this incident could be related to accounts incorrectly marked as spam.

To clarify:

• I can log in and view my profile normally, but it is hidden from others, including my contributions.
• I haven't engaged in any spammy or automated behavior, nor created multiple accounts.
• This issue significantly affects my professional workflow, as my job depends on GitHub collaboration.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue potentially linked to yesterday's incident, or does anyone know if GitHub's spam detection system was impacted by this event?

Update: My account was unflagged just a few hours after submitting the appeal ticket. All good now!

Hi there,
I am facing the same issue. I have created my account three weeks ago and it has been tagged as spammy from the beginning which led to the fact that my account is hidden from others and I cant do anything.
Now, I`ve raised a ticket and I am hoping that this will be solved soon.

Mine was just flagged "under review". I discovered it by accident when logging into my organization. I may add that I pay for the seats, etc. I can't add a new user at the moment, which also impacts my professional workflow -> I wanted to add a technical artist to the organization and now I'm... waiting.

I am also experiencing this issue and it is very disruptive. I've raised a ticket and commented on it a few times but it's been 4 days and still havent heard back. Curious if anyone has any advice? Also curious, if this was resolved for anyone, how long did it take to get resolved ?
