🎓 Education Performance Analytics Dashboard

FP20 x ZoomCharts Mini Challenge 31

📊 Overview

This dashboard was developed for the FP20 Analytics x ZoomCharts Mini Challenge 31 (October Edition). It offers a detailed, multi-perspective analysis of student and teacher performance across subjects, time, and demographics.

The goal was to design an interactive, data-driven, and visually cohesive dashboard that combines storytelling with analytics. Leveraging Power BI and ZoomCharts, it enables users to explore academic insights efficiently through dynamic visuals and flip cards.

📂 Dataset

The dataset includes:

  • Student demographics and performance data
  • Subject and teacher information
  • Assessment records and outcomes across academic periods

It was cleaned and structured for Power BI, ensuring compatibility with ZoomCharts visuals for smooth interactivity.

Page 1: Overall Performance

Purpose: To provide a high-level snapshot of student and teacher performance across subjects, time, and demographics.

🔍 Key Visuals

  • Top Students (Bar Chart): Highlights the 10 highest scorers for quick recognition.
  • Monthly Trend (Column Chart): Shows steady improvement in average scores over time.
  • Summary Stats (KPIs): Displays total students, teachers, subjects, and average score for a quick overview.
  • Top Subjects & Teachers (Table): Links subject performance to instructor impact.
  • Assessment Outcomes (Pie Chart): Compares total assessments taken versus passed.
  • Gender Performance (Donut Chart): Displays weighted scores categorized by gender.

🧭 Navigation & Filters Includes sidebar links to student and teacher views, plus dropdown filters for assessment type and category, ensuring smooth navigation and targeted insights.

Page 2: Student Performance

Purpose: To provide a detailed, student-level view of academic progress, assessment history, and subject-wise performance.

🔍 Key Visuals

  • Student Profile Card (Flip Card): Displays personal details such as name, age, nationality, and grade level on the front. The back reveals the student’s performance overview, offering an engaging and compact insight experience.
  • Assessment Distribution (Donut Chart): Breaks down 1,268 assessments by subject type to show academic focus.
  • Academic Timeline (Line Chart): Tracks monthly performance trends to highlight areas of growth or decline.
  • Assessment Summary (Table): Lists individual assessments with grades, subjects, and teacher names for transparency and comparison.

Page 3: Teacher Performance

Purpose: To evaluate individual teacher effectiveness through performance trends, assessment data, and comparative metrics.

🔍 Key Visuals

  • Teacher Profile Card (Flip Card): Displays teacher name, subject, experience, and department. The reverse side reveals their average scores, contribution to assessments, and other key performance metrics.
  • Performance Trend (Line Chart): Tracks monthly weighted scores to illustrate consistency and growth.
  • Summary Stats (KPIs): Highlights total teachers, subjects handled, and average scores (overall vs. individual).
  • Assessment Summary (Table): Lists assessments conducted, corresponding scores, and categories, reflecting teaching impact and subject performance.

🧭 Navigation & Filters Includes sidebar links to student and overall views, along with filters for term, academic year, and subject type, allowing multi-level comparative analysis.

🚀 How to Use

  1. Download the .pbix file from this repository.
  2. Open it in Power BI Desktop (latest version).
  3. Explore the visuals and use filters or flip cards to interact with the data.
