Feature Request: Configurable Time Rounding per Project

Summary

Add an option to round tracked time entries to configurable intervals (15 min, 30 min or 1 h) on a per-project basis.

Motivation

Some teams prefer to log time in fixed increments rather than exact minutes, to simplify reporting and billing. Allowing each project to define its own rounding rule would increase flexibility and better match clients’ invoicing policies.

Proposal

In the project settings, add a “Time Rounding” dropdown with options:

• No rounding (current behavior)
• Round to nearest 15 minutes
• Round to nearest 30 minutes
• Round to nearest 1 hour
• Apply rounding when the user saves or exports time entries for that project.

Ensure the change is clearly noted in exports and API responses (e.g. an extra field "rounded_duration").

Example

• Entry of 1 h 07 min on Project A (configured to 15 min) → stored/exported as 1 h 00 min
• Entry of 1 h 07 min on Project B (configured to 30 min) → stored/exported as 1 h 00 min
• Entry of 1 h 40 min on Project C (configured to 1 h) → stored/exported as 2 h 00 min

• This feature would help teams align time tracking with their billing cycles and reduce manual adjustments after the fact.

We would love to see the possibility to track our time entries by a configurable time like 15 minutes. Especially in the calendar view, which can be pretty useless if you get 59 min instead of the full hour and so on, because there is no pre-defined slots.

Many other time tracking tools offer this too.

can you show me what features exactly you mean in other time tracking tools? because it sounds like you want to force fixed 15-minute intervals on the time entries and I don't think I have seen such a feature in other time trackers before (at least in toggl and clockify).

Or do you just mean just the snapping on the calendar view?

I think TimeCockpit offers such feature in https://www.timecockpit.com/de/projektzeiterfassung, but I think it is more a snapping in the calendar view to be precise.

We quite like the calendar overview to enter our entries and that would make it so much easier.

v0.11.5 adds a setting for snapping in the calendar

With latest versions You also removed rounding to 15 minutes when clicking directly on calendar. That was useful. Now You drag on calendar and get comething like 9:03 to 9:57. That has to be corrected manually. Before YOu would get all this rounded to 15 mins.

a previous version used the fullcalendar snapDuration unfortunately that caused issues because snapping is relative to the event start/end and not aligned to the grid (fullcalendar/fullcalendar#5964).

v0.11.5 adds a setting for it with a custom snapping to the grid.
