Use the separate "Copilot Premium Usage Monitor" extension: There is a third-party extension available on the Visual Studio Marketplace called "Copilot Premium Usage Monitor" that allows you to track your monthly budget and usage directly within VS Code. This requires you to provide a Personal Access Token (PAT) with read-only plan access. |

Well, I don't know what happened. but I just saw an update to the extensions and I got it back. in any case from the user perspective (me) it was a very poor way of simplifying things. being able to view this in the IDE was very important for me and removing it made this much more complex. so, happy its back, and I hope that this roll-back WAS intentional. |

The usage monitor feature was temporarily removed but has since been restored. Here are your options to view Copilot usage:
To restore the feature:
If the issue persists after updates, it might be account-specific. Try signing out and back into GitHub Copilot within VS Code. |

Until recently I would click on the copilot icon and see my premium requests usage this month including when it is going to reset.
It is now gone.
I couldn't find any indication for this in the vscode or github copilot/github copilot chat release notes.
Is this a bug, or was this removed intentionally? It was very convenient to see the usage in the IDE and not having to leave it, open github.com etc.
I'm using the latest GA vscode and extensions. details below
Thank you for your help.
